Dave is a composer predominately focusing on music for media. He has 10 years experience working for production music labels and advertising clients. His music has been used worldwide across all forms of media.
Recording/Mixing/Mastering
Working from his top secret studio (just outside London, right near junction 6 of the M25, just after the pub, on the left-hand side), Dave has worked on editing, mixing and mastering music for projects for Sky and Coca-Cola. He has edited, mixed and mastered over 350 commercially available scores.
As a recording engineer, most of Dave’s experience is working in his home studio. However, he has been known to dust off the laptop and head on down to a church or concert hall to record everything from singers to orchestras. Following the philosophy of legendary engineer Al Schmitt, Dave understands the paramount importance of capturing audio correctly in the ideal acoustic environment. Whether working from home or amidst the grandeur of a concert hall, Dave’s dedication to pristine audio recording ensures that every note and nuance is faithfully preserved.
Orchestration & Fixing
With a foundation in orchestral and jazz music, Dave’s artistic sensibility is naturally attuned to the rich colours and inherent beauty of live performances. His journey in the music industry has been underpinned by a deep appreciation for the authenticity and depth that real musicians bring to a project.
Dave has had the privilege of contributing to various musical genres, ranging from pop to soundtracks, by crafting intricate string and horn arrangements. His expertise extends beyond arranging, and he has coordinated sessions both in the UK and abroad. Whether it’s assembling a group of talented musicians or securing the perfect studio space, Dave’s mission is to enhance the musical experience.
Production, Collaboration & Supervision
Dave has worked as a producer for independent music publishers creating albums and tracks. His journey in the music industry has been socially and creatively enhanced by the privilege of working with incredibly talented artists and all round great personalities. Having served as a music supervisor, Dave takes immense joy in the art of finding the perfect track to complement and elevate the magic of a moment. It’s a privilege he cherishes, and his keen ear for music has added depth and emotion to countless projects.
